Manager, Broadcasting - National Hockey League (New York, NY)

SUMMARY

This position serves a significant supporting and strategic role as a liaison between US and Canadian national and regional television rightsholders, NHL Clubs, and all internal departments. Provides necessary and detailed information directly to their supervisor in support of over thirty five rightsholder relationships. The role will make suggestions and recommendations to strengthen and manage the day to day operational landscape in a productive manner. Roles and responsibilities include building, maintaining, and managing strong relationships with all parties related to television production and operations, content sharing, game presentation and new broadcast technology, while ensuring that the integrated NHL departmental business objectives are met and exceeded. This position will work cohesively with others within the department to ensure that all NHL broadcast policies and procedures are executed and maintained to guidelines and standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Manager, Broadcasting will be responsible for but not limited to:

  • Serving as a key department representative and liaison between the 30 NHL Clubs and all television rightsholders
  • Managing the production operations of rightsholders during regular season, playoffs, and tent pole events.
  • Serving as a lone on-site department representative at NHL games while providing production coordination and support
  • Making independent decisions to resolve conflict and time sensitive situations amongst multiple parties
  • Providing detailed communication updates for senior management
  • The management of rightsholders player access requests and coordination at media events such as the annual Player Media Tour and Stanley Cup Final.
  • Providing quality control support, editorial intervention, and best practice presentations
  • Assisting with the creation of arena and stadium broadcast camera maps throughout the regular season and playoffs
  • Managing and coordinating rightsholder credential requests, approvals, and distribution
  • Researching, updating and publishing the annual NHL Broadcast Factbook
  • Creating weekly programming schedule grids and department assignment schedule
  • Serving as a key point person for the integration and communication of all NHL departments
  • Other miscellaneous / departmental related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

The qualified applicant should have a college degree and 4+ Years of Television Production and/or Event Management Background.  The ability to multitask in a fast paced environment a must.  They should have strong written and verbal communication skills as well as being highly organized with strong administrative skill set.  Excellent Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point skills a must. The ability to carry out detailed instructions and multi-task is essential to this position.  The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated self-starter.  Television production and operations experience a plus. Strong hockey knowledge a plus. French is a plus but not necessary.

The eligible candidate must be willing to travel and work nights and weekends as needed.

Broadcast: Broadcast Production
Motion Graphics/Production Coordinator - Prudential Center and New Jersey Devils (Newark, NJ)

• EVENT PRODUCTION:
General Responsibilities and Duties:
• Expert in editing in Final Cut Pro (or Adobe Premiere since the two are very similar)
• Experience at animating within Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop, After Effects (familiarity with 3D design programs such as Cinema 4D would be a plus)
• Canon DSLR Camera Expert (or similar)
• Experience as production assistant for on-location video shoots
• Experience setting up for or conducting on-camera interviews
• Experience with setting up and shooting on Green Screen (advanced lighting techniques/staging)

• QUALIFICATIONS:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to work well under pressure/time constraints
• Ability to work flexible hours to include nights, weekends, and holidays as required
• Must be self-motivated, organized, hard-working
• Must be outgoing, personable, and energetic
