Video Editor/Animator - Los Angeles Kings (El Segundo, CA)

Anschutz Entertainment Group, Inc. (“AEG”) is a subsidiary of The Anschutz Company and one of the leading sports and entertainment presenters in the world. AEG owns a collection of companies including multi-use facilities such as STAPLES Center and StubHub! Center in Southern California, several sports franchises including the Los Angeles Kings (NHL) and Los Angeles Galaxy (MLS) and AEG LIVE, one of the world's leading concert promotions and touring companies. AEG is also currently overseeing the development of L.A. LIVE, 4 million sq. ft. downtown L.A. sports, residential and entertainment district.

 

The Los Angeles Kings Hockey Club is seeking an experienced Video Editor/Animator.  This position will be responsible for creating videos, digital content and motion graphics for distribution in-area, web and TV.  The candidate must have the ability to manage several projects concurrently both independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment. 

 

Qualified candidates must have a demo reel with breakdown and an explanation of their project involvement.  Demo reel must demonstrate both editing and animating experience.  Please send a link to view your demo reel.  DVD’s and hard copies will not be accepted.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Edit video features, TV commercials, and other video content.

  • Design and animate dynamic 2D and 3D motion graphics used in all aspects of game entertainment for Kings home games at STAPLES Center.

  • Media management of digital assets including: archive video, game highlights and ENG footage.

  • Delivery and distribution of video content for multiple platforms and formats.

  • Coordinating post-production workflow between AE’s and audio mixers from ingest to final delivery.

 

Qualifications:

  • Experience with and a strong working knowledge of a Mac-based post-production workflow. 
  • Experience with and a strong working knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro (Creative Cloud) and Final Cut Pro 7 . 

  • Experience with and a strong working knowledge of After Effects, Photoshop and Illustrator.

  • Experience with and a strong working knowledge of a 3D suite. (Cinema 4D, or Autodesk Flame, Smoke or Maya.)

  • Must be a team player, highly motivated with a close attention to detail and organization.

  • Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline-driven team environment.

  • Minimum 3 years of real-world production experience.

  • Previous experience in sports production is a plus.

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university preferred.

Project Manager - Monumental Sports & Entertainment (Washington, DC)

Monumental Sports & Entertainment owns and operates three professional sports teams: the NBA's Washington Wizards, the NHL's Washington Capitals, and the WNBA's Washington Mystics. Monumental, which merged Lincoln Holdings and Washington Sports & Entertainment on June 10, 2010, also owns and operates Verizon Center, the premier sports and entertainment venue in Washington, D.C. Overview: Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Colosseo system: loading/maintaining the system and delivering timely reports to sponsorship.

Responsibilities:

  • Program and maintain Colosseo content delivery system.
  • Maintain positive and proactive communication on all technology issues.
  • Leverage available technology to affect and improve operating efficiencies.
  • Work with Game Operations department to deliver cutting edge solutions that drive fan experience.
  • Assist Assignment Editor with day-to-day needs as assigned.
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions.
  • Must be a skilled multi-tasker.
  • Must have excellent organizational skills.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a live television production environment.
  • Ability to work well alone and in a team environment.
  • Working knowledge of cutting edge television equipment.
  • Understanding of broadcast signal flow in a television work environment.

Skills:

Must have knowledge of: Content Delivery Systems, Signal workflow in a live production environment and ability to troubleshoot issues and develop work-arounds to keep production operational. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and inter-personal skills to help communicate complex ideas in an easy to understand way.

  • Ability to tell visual stories through editing.
  • Able to incorporate multiple shoots to tell cohesive story.
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a television production environment.
  • Strong editing skills.
  • Ability to work well alone and in a team environment.
  • Working knowledge of cutting edge equipment.
  • Strong computer skills, knowledge of Final Cut Pro. 

Skills:

Must have knowledge of: Avid Media Composer and Avid Interplay. A working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite products is a plus and basic office computing skills, Microsoft Word, etc.
