Broadcast Coordinator                            

This position will assist with game day preparations associated with TV and radio broadcasts. Position will also be responsible for media trafficking, ingesting and logging game melt footage utilizing an asset management system and a variety of administrative responsibilities as needed.

Examples of Essential Duties/Responsibilities:  
•    Responsible for media commercial trafficking
•    Log, tag and ingest game melt footage into a video asset management system
•    Track Nielsen Ratings for research and analysis
•    Assist with game day operations for radio and TV broadcasts at numerous locations throughout the arena
•    Responsible for maintenance of event schedule and content calendar by working directly with numerous internal departments on a variety of events and projects 
•    Compile and log all broadcast air check requests
•    Assist Broadcasting Associate with game day preparation including but not limited to credentials, parking lists, and studio assignments
•    Other duties as assigned

Specific Qualifications/Abilities:  
•    High school diploma or equivalent, Bachelor’s Degree preferred
•    Minimum 2-3 years’ experience working in a live broadcast or live sports environment 
•    Ability to handle multiple projects at one time while meeting deadlines in a fast paced, live entertainment environment
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills with effective interpersonal relationship skills 
•    Self-motivated, well organized and detail oriented individual with a positive can-do attitude
•    Proficient in Microsoft Office products, knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud programs a plus
•    Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as required
•    Familiarity with the sport of hockey strongly preferred

Broadcast: Broadcast Production
Video Producer - Carolina Hurricanes (Raleigh, NC)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Produce and create video/audio features and elements for the Carolina Hurricanes, PNC Arena and broadcast partners.
  • Shoots and edits packages for, Kids ‘N Community Foundation and all Hurricanes related promotions as well as potential PNC Arena training videos.
  • The full-time position will be required to work all Carolina Hurricanes pre-season, regular season and playoff games. The position is a year round role with the team.
  • Make public and private appearances in the community in support of the Carolina Hurricanes initiatives with Promotions and Fan Development, Community Relations and the Kids ‘N Community Foundation.
  • Knowledge of Carolina Hurricanes hockey club and current NHL happenings
  • Must be able to think creatively in a team environment in the conception of entertainment elements
  • Assists the Director in production coordination
  • Other duties as assigned


Previous production experience and/or has obtained or in the process of obtaining a degree focused on Broadcast Journalism or Communication is preferred. Must be familiar with Adobe Creative Cloud, live production, sound design, ENG shooting and basic camera and lighting.

Candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong organizational and delivery skills; excellent presentation and reportorial skills; knowledge of journalistic standards as related to the in-game presentation and online content; Strong interpersonal and social skills; must be able to work well under pressure and with others to develop and execute compelling entertainment; must be self-motivated and creative.

Candidate must be willing to work a very flexible schedule including nights and weekends.

Penguins Broadcast Group - Radio Executive Producer - Pittsburgh Penguins (Pittsburgh, PA)

Description: Exciting opportunity for an experienced radio production professional to craft the sound and delivery of the Pittsburgh Penguins Radio Network. The Penguins Radio Network is the largest in the NHL with 37 affiliate stations including flagship station WXDX-FM. Qualified candidates must be able to understand and work in all technical aspects of radio production including sound editing, sound production and commercial production.  The Executive producer oversees a small group of engineers and board ops that perform tasks in a variety of locations, including iHeart Radio Studios, CONSOL Energy Center and other arenas around the National Hockey League, as well as remote broadcast locations as determined by the Penguins.  Candidates must have knowledge of satellite distribution services to be able to deliver the Penguins Radio broadcast to affiliate stations.  The Executive Producer will also oversee relations with technical contacts at all Penguins Radio Network affiliate stations and is always prepared to troubleshoot any potential technical issue from any broadcast location.

Reports to: Penguins Media Group Leadership Team, which consists of: VP of Communications, VP of Marketing, SVP of Sales and Broadcasting

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Direct and monitor the team’s radio broadcast programming and activities in conformance with Federal Communication Commission (“FCC”) rules and regulations, Team policy and applicable state and local laws.

  • Plann and oversee all on-air programming and production in coordination with The Media Group Leadership Team.

  • Oversee all aspects of the Penguins Game Night broadcast including Pre, In and Post Game.

  • Oversee all aspects of additional Penguins Radio Programming including a weekly Saturday morning audio magazine show and a weekly coaches and general manager’s show.

  • Produce and distribute 60 second game recaps in a timely manner to be made available to all Penguins Radio broadcast affiliates.

  • Work with Media Group Leadership Team on the overall sound of the Penguins Radio Broadcast.  This includes pre production of audio commercials, audio sounders and rejoins, commercial billboard messages, team marketing messages, music and theming that aligns with the Penguins brand.

  • Have a working knowledge of production software programs including Adobe Audition and other audio production and editing tools.

  • Work directly with production and programming professionals at iHeart Radio to become familiar and have a working knowledge of iHeart’s software programs, board operating systems and production systems.

  • Work with the Penguins/NHL and iHeart Radio internet audio streaming services to ensure the uninterrupted delivery of all Penguins audio programming over team website and Penguins mobile app.

  • Develop and have a working knowledge of the satellite distribution services at iHeart Radio and other third party satellite providers to ensure the uninterrupted delivery of Penguins Radio programming to all affiliate stations.

  • Oversee relations and communications with audio engineers and subcontractors in all 30 NHL Market places.  These engineers work directly in the broadcast booth.

  • Be prepared to perform work functions in a variety of locations including multiple spots in CONSOL Energy Center, at iHeart Radio and at additional remote broadcast locations determined by the organization.

  • Work with Penguins Radio broadcasters to schedule commercial and other audio production.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Media Group Leadership Team.


  • Qualified candidates should have a minimum of three years of full time audio production experience.  Candidates must have a working knowledge of a variety of audio editing software tools as well as expert knowledge of the distribution of audio programming to a variety of affiliate stations in five states, making up the largest radio network in the NHL.  Penguins Radio is the #1 rated radio broadcast in the NHL and candidates should be experts in all aspects of radio production, radio signal distribution, remote broadcast solutions, internet audio streaming, commercial production, satellite services and more.  Experience as a voice over talent is a benefit but not a requirement.  Candidates should be exceptional problem solvers, prepared with a variety of solutions to ensure the uninterrupted delivery of Penguins Radio to our listeners.  Additionally candidates should have good knowledge of the NHL and the game of hockey in particular. Candidates should excellent communicators, able to oversee multiple free lance engineers and producers, as well as work very closely with Penguins Radio broadcasters on a variety of duties.

  • Qualified candidates should have a four year bachelor’s degree in broadcasting, radio production or other appropriate field of study.
