POSITION TITLE:     IN-ARENA HOST

DEPARTMENT:         Game Presentation

REPORTS TO:            Senior Director of Game Presentation

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Florida Panthers are looking for a new in-arena host for the 2016-17 season. This part-time position is responsible for executing game promotions, fan contests, live on-camera interviews, and more during Panthers home games. Our in-arena host will work all home preseason, regular season and playoff games, as well as, select special events at the BB&T Center

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • In-arena Host/Emcee

  • Hyping up the crowd

  • Live on-camera interviews

  • Executing contests with fans and in-game promotions

  • Shooting promotional/marketing pieces as needed

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Candidate must be 18 years of age or older to apply

  • Minimum of 1-2 years host/emcee experience required

  • Working knowledge of hockey rules and regulations

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Must have the ability to project your voice

  • Ability to perform in front of a large audiences

  • Can adjust and adapt quickly to situations

  • Ability to work with others in a fast-paced environment under pressure

Centennial Producer/ Editor - National Hockey League (New York, NY)

SUMMARY

The NHL Studios Producer/ Editor position is a full time project based position and has a limited employment duration that will potentially run no longer than 12/30/17. We are looking for a Candidate to assist the Coordinating and Senior Producers in the upcoming video production for the NHL Centennial video production unit. Would need to help produce and edit highly creative features, both short and long form. Be able to work in a collaborative environment and deliver compelling video content.

Qualified individual must have an extensive knowledge of the NHL, it’s teams, Players, Coaches and the long history of the NHL. Must have a thorough understanding of media production including pre-production, production and post-production with a heavy emphasis on post-production. Graphic Creation and Animation experience preferred. Studio, post and fieldwork required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position will have extensive experience working in a television multimedia production environment.  They should possess an extensive knowledge of the NHL, its players, coaches and the history of the NHL. A thorough understanding of post-production and all that is required for timely execution of projects. This position will:

  • Research, editing, audio mixing, exporting and file management are all necessary skills.
  • Communicate with senior staff, fellow producers and clients are definitely needed for optimal production workflow.
  • Be a self-starter, who can work on their own, who can also take direction from others and implement those suggestions in a cordial and professional manner.
  • Be very flexible with working hours, as day and night hours, weekdays and weekends are required as well as being on call for last minute production requirements. Your workday can extend as production demands change, so schedule flexibility is a key component to the position
  • Travel may be required.

QUALIFICATIONS

The qualified applicant will have at least 5 to 8 years experience in production and/or a post-production related roles and a BA or equivalent.  Must be experienced with Final Cut Pro 7, 10 and Adobe Premier Pro Edit.  Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop graphic and animation experience a must.  The ability to work in a fast paced environment working on multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail necessary for success; should have superior organizational and creative skills. 

The ideal candidate should have the ability to learn new production skills and adapt to an ever changing department and technologies.  The proven ability to work closely with Senior and Junior staff in a broadcast post-production environment essential.  Experience with various broadcast equipment preferred (Cameras, audio mixers, switchers) a must.

The Associate Producer will work with producers, on-air talent, and members of the broadcast team to create first-rate sports radio/TV simulcast programming primarily for professional hockey and football. Candidate will possess strong communication and organizational skills as well as experience working with high profile personalities. Summary of Position

This position must have experience working in live broadcast television. The graphics producer will be responsible for developing all designs, animations, and real-time graphics using 3D motion animation graphics programs (Xpression 3D HD Character Generator) including content and placement during a 2-hour Hockey Show and a 3-Hour Football Show. Must have excellent communication skills and experience working with a technical director and show producers. The successful candidate will additionally be responsible for establishing the style, best practices, and visual brand with all designs, consistently and efficiently.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Create full screen boards describing on-air guests for 5-hour block of live programming.

  • Update L-Frame graphic with stats and news of the day.

  • Create open, bump, and bump-back animations.

  • Create other relevant graphics and visual displays while integrating editorial judgement.

  • Continually research and brainstorm creative ideas, styles, and trends.

Minimum Requirements

  • 2 - 3 years’ experience using Ross Xpression 3D HD Character Generator and Motion Graphics.

Summary of Position

The Technical Director will operate the video switcher and associated equipment on live and taped, remote and studio broadcasts during a daily 5-hour sports simulcast block. This position will be responsible for the visual direction of a live broadcast. They will work together with the producer(s) and other staff members in planning the daily broadcasts and implementing video and graphic material on the fly.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide creative input with the vision of the show(s), working closely with the director and production staff.

  • Will be responsible for technical directing and video switcher operation for studio productions.

  • Will implement visual elements during live show including proper graphics and video.

  • Will set up pre-designed elements in a virtual and augmented reality studio with green-screen.

  • Will operate robotic studio camera studio and will recall camera shots as required.

  • General studio maintenance.

  • Other duties assigned including assistance on/during Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres game days.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must have 2 - 3 years’ experience directing fast-paced live television programming.

  • The ability to take direction from producer(s) and other staff members to appropriately deliver camera shots and video/graphic material in a timely manner.

The Production Assistant Candidate will lead and assist with the daily production of two live simulcast broadcasts. Will work closely and communicate efficiently with producers and other members of the broadcast department to ensure appropriate and timely content. Job will include research for content production, editing video and audio.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Follow producers lead in cutting up video/audio clips for in-show use.

  • Pitch and execute ideas for in-show production using research and audio/video editing programs.

  • Work closely with other members of the broadcast team in and out of the building to gather video, audio, and graphic material.

  • Control audio board during live shows.

  • Be able to adjust with production material on the fly with spontaneous changes in show topics/guests.

  • Will publish video/audio content to digital platforms and provide accurate and timely delivery of that content.

Minimum Requirements

  • 2 - 3 years’ experience working with non-linear editing (AVID/Adobe/Final Cut/Premier/After Effects).

Job Summary

This position provides hands-on design, development, and production of multi-platform video programming and computer generated still & motion graphics for the NHL’s Pittsburgh Penguins and their affiliated events and partners.  While projects will vary in terms of creative objective and display destination, this position’s primary focus will be to support all aspects of our Game Presentation, PensTV programming, Marketing, Sales, Foundation, and other business divisions by delivering impactful, high-energy programming and synergistic graphic animations across a multi-media assets package that includes HD video, LED ribbon boards, television, and new media.   Position will work closely with direct reports and department colleagues, as well as other inter-department and/or designated 3rd party clients as needed, to ensure that all project objectives, including creative direction, branding guidelines, and required deadlines, are successfully achieved.     

Experience and Qualifications

Ideal candidate will possess a strong combination of the following attributes…

  • Demonstrated hands-on proficiency with Mac-based graphics and editing tools, including After Effects, Cinema 4D, Final Cut Pro 7/Premiere, and PhotoShop/Illustrator.

  • Previous introductory/hands-on experience designing assets for multi-platform display formats including LED ribbon boards, HD video, web & social media devices.

  • Minimum 1-2 year’s related experience with an NHL team or similar sports entity and/or venue.

  • Post-secondary education and training in a digital media productions-related field.

  • Any production versatility as editor/shooter is an additional plus
