SharePoint Architect - Edmonton Oilers Hockey Club (Edmonton, AB)

 

 

 

Summary:

• Reports directly to the Director, IT
• The SharePoint Architect is a permanent, full-time, benefited position
• The SharePoint Architect will oversee and participate in the architectural design, development, customization and integration efforts of enterprise solutions involving Collaboration, Portals, Enterprise Search, Enterprise Content Management, Business Process and Form and Business Intelligence.
• The SharePoint Architect will be expected to be able to lead application projects as well as manage and support existing corporate applications


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible to utilize Microsoft SharePoint Server 2007 (MOSS 2007), Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 (WSS 3.0), SharePoint Designer 2007 and various other Microsoft technologies.
• Manage and troubleshoot with a focus on planning, deploying and supporting enterprise SharePoint implementations.
• An expert with data, the architect will also have Database Administration duties as needed
• Responsible to create detailed technical documentation
• As part of a team, troubleshoot application issues
• Propose creative ways to utilize technology and with business opportunities keeping in mind resource and budgetary constraints. Question current practices in order to promote innovative solutions.
• Recommend creative, as well as implement, good internal work processes

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• N/A

Ideal Qualifications:

• Minimum of 4 years experience in Microsoft.NET development with minimum of 3 years of SharePoint technical lead and architecture experience on enterprise initiatives.
• Experience with ASP.NET 2.0/3.0, C#, XML, IIS, BizTalk Server, SQL Server 2005, 2008.
• Experienced with full software development life cycle (SDLC) is highly preferred
• Understanding of RUP implementation diagrams and UML preferred
• Advanced knowledge of business workflows and have an in depth understanding of the capabilities of Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 and SharePoint Designer 2007.
• In depth experience with Collaboration, Portals, Enterprise Search…
• Experience with Microsoft Forefront Security for SharePoint and application security centered around the SharePoint document library is highly preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Office InfoPath Forms Services, SharePoint Templates and Community Kit for SharePoint.
• 3 years experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2005/2008 and Database Administration.
• Microsoft CRM 4.0 application management experience.
• Experienced both in creating technical and end-user documentation
• Works well in a team environment
• Extensive project management experience.
• Willing to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays.

Education and Experience:

• Undergraduate or Graduate Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related experience.
• MOSS, MCDBA and/or MCMCSD certification preferred.
• PMBOK certification preferred.

Flash Designer/Developer - National Hockey League (New York, NY)

SUMMARY:

The National Hockey League is looking for a Flash Designer/Developer candidate with experience working on complex Flash user-interfaces. Flash projects will consist of complete websites, micro-sites, widget creation, branding and image animation, fully interactive interfaces and other multimedia functions. Flash design and development includes collaborating with project managers, development teams and customers to create the client's vision in Flash. This is a full-time opportunity in our New York offices that will report to the Creative Director.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

The position of Flash Designer is responsible for but not limited to:

  • Having expert knowledge and proven proficiency of Flash applications in Actionscript 2.0/3.0
  • Having the ability to create and manipulate raster and vector graphics, using the Flash IDE or Illustrator
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe/Macromedia Flash 8 or higher, Flash video: playback, encoding
  • Being competent in Javascript (jQuery/SWFObject /JSON) and XML/external dynamic data integration
  • Having a solid understanding of PhotoshopGreat eye for motion and animation
  • Must be up to date with latest technologies and innovative solutions to problems
  • Have strong debugging, source code management and optimization abilities
  • Be familiar with Omiture and DoubleClick / DART tracking implementation

QUALIFICATIONS:

The ideal candidate must demonstrate a strong creative vision for producing work with a cohesive look and feel, brand message and/or theme.  They must have the ability to work on multiple projects at once and have strong interpersonal skills and able to work well with the team in a deadline-driven environment

The ideal candidate should have 3-5 years of professional experience with object-oriented programming and a great online portfolio.  They should also be self -motivated, a creative problem-solver, and have the ability to plan and organize.  Candidate must have an eye for detail with the ability to create original, compelling, interactive designs that are appealing and easy to navigate.

  • Having graphic design, typography and knowledge of color theory a plus
  • Experience with mobile devices and also Papervision3D a plus
  • Basic understanding of Solaris / Apache / Java / MySQL a plus

Director of Converged Network Technology - Pittsburgh Penguins LP (Pittsburgh, PA)

Summary:

The Penguins are constructing a new arena, Consol Energy Center, which is scheduled to open in Fall 2010. For the duration of the construction of Consol Energy Center, this person would work with the new arena project team and focus primarily on the configuration and implementation of the converged local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), servers, applications, desktops, wireless LAN, voice over IP telephony (VOIP) and all related equipment, software and application (collectively, the “converged network technology”). Following the opening of Consol Energy Center, this person would work within a newly-created technology department and have primary responsibility for the administration of the converged network technology ensuring that it supports the needs of the Penguins and its agents in the operation of their businesses and facilities.

Initially, this person would report to the Senior Vice President, Business Affairs/General Counsel. As the Penguins continue to develop a newly-created technology department, they may change reporting for this position.

The salary for this position depends on experience and skills. This person would also participate in health and other benefit programs for full-time employees.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Direct and perform the ongoing administration of all hardware, software and applications comprising the converged network technology, as well as all other data and communications technology needs of the Penguins and its agents.
  2. Manage outside vendors and work side-by-side with other technology department personnel to ensure that all arena technology operates properly and effectively.
  3. Develop and implement the most effective hardware, software, application and data security and emergency policies and procedures, including business continuity and data recovery plans.
  4. Develop and implement a systematic approach for prioritizing and addressing competing converged network and other data and technology needs of the Penguins and its agents and for allocating resources to best support their needs in the most cost-effective manner; evaluate alternatives, perform appropriate cost benefit analysis, and recommend solutions that provide benefits commensurate with their costs.
  5. Maintain current knowledge of both technology and business processes, with a cross-functional perspective, and effectively applies that knowledge.
  6. Assist in the negotiations of all converged network and other data and communications related contracts, soliciting involvement and participation of other management team members as appropriate.
  7. Develop and implement corporate policies and standards relating to the acquisition, implementation, and operation of converged network and other data and communications technology using best practices.
  8. Coordinate and perform training of end users in use of software, hardware and applications comprising the converged network and other data and communications technology.
  9. Develop and implement long-range plans for converged network and other data and communications technology hardware, software and applications.
  10. Perform other duties as necessary and appropriate to the position.

Essential Work Experience and Education:

This position requires 10+ years of work experience in systems administration, systems programming and/or analysis demonstrating excellent organizational, leadership, decision-making and communications skills. This position also requires Cisco CCNA and/or other qualifications. Candidates with an associates or bachelors degree preferred.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills:

This person should have deep knowledge of computer network policies and procedures and various operating systems and servers. This person also should have broad knowledge of specialized systems such as Microsoft 2003 and 2008 enterprise server, Microsoft Exchange 2003 and 2007, MAC OSX, Blackberry Enterprise Server, Ticketmaster Archtics, Microsoft Sharepoint, Citrix, Symantec Backup Exec, Symantec Anti-Virus, HP servers, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, Retail Pro, Micros HMS POS systems and others. The Penguins would prefer this person to have sports team or facility experience.
