SUMMARY

The NHL is looking for a Senior Systems Administrator who will be well versed with the DevOps operating model, to join our IT Infrastructure operations team.  They will deploy, secure, manage and monitor servers and services running on both Linux and Windows platform.  This role provides a wide variety of services enabling fluid operation of the IT infrastructure group and related services.

QUALIFICATIONS

The qualified applicant will have at least 10 years of IT support experience and at least 5 years administrating Linux Servers, preferably CentOS and/or RedHat. They should also have experience administering Linux services such as Apache, OpenSSL, OpenLDAP, MySQL, etc.

 The ideal candidate must also have experience will all of the following: Windows Server 2008/2012, containers such as OpenVZ and Docker, virtual systems (preferably VMware) and experience with Cloud services such as AWS, EC2, S3.  They must have a strong understanding of the application stack and experience supporting high-traffic websites. 

Qualified applicant will have knowledge of TCP/IP network protocols and common system protocols such as SNMP, SMTP, DNS, FTP(S), SSH, HTTP and experience with storage technologies, SAN/NAS, Disk & Flash technologies, Fiber Channel switches & GigabiteEthernet configuration.  Should have experience working with Bash and Python scripting, version control systems, preferably git and experience with Puppet, Ansible or similar configuration management tool.

SUMMARY

The National Hockey League is looking for a SQL Developer and Stats Analyst for the development, enhancement, and support of their statistics research.  This role will develop the tools to provide the NHL Public Relations staff with historical stats related to current noteworthy events that occur in NHL games on a nightly basis.  This role’s duties will include using various tools and/or historical databases to collect, organize, interpret, and summarize statistical data in a usable form to bolster story lines and increase interest in the game.  

DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITES

This position will be responsible for:

  • Calculating, tabulating, auditing, and analyzing statistical information.

  • Analyzing inquiries and defining a sound methodology to produce the best possible solution.

  • Reporting results of statistical analyses, including information in the form of graphs, charts, and tables.

  • Identifying relationships in statistical data that could be refined to improve research performance and turnaround time.

SUMMARY

The Project Manager is responsible for managing the full life cycle of projects, including ensuring projects adhere to the agreed-upon scope, timelines, and budget.

RESPONSIBILITIES

PROJECT INITIATIVES

  • Work directly with business owners to develop business requirements, project scope and project plan on various initiatives. Initially, the Project Manager will manage the implementation of a third-party Pension Administration system and participant portal.
  • Define oversight/governance model, including roles and responsibilities, processes for risk management, communications and reporting, benchmarks/metrics.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, requirements specifications, and “As Is” and “To Be” process flows; develop strong understanding of essential business needs and processes.

  • Obtain stakeholder sign-offs / approvals on specifications, testing, and deployments.
  • Ensure League security policies are applied appropriately to new and existing applications.
  • Manage relationships with third party vendors and internal departments, including application development, legal, and finance.

  • Ensure super users are properly trained on delivered applications and tools, including creating user documentation as required.
  • Oversee administration of finance systems, including user administration and application configuration.
  • Implement policies and procedures for change management, user administration, and system controls as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in Finance / Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.  They must have a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as a Project Manager, Project Lead or Business Analyst.  Experience with Financial / ERP systems, Lawson Financials, corporate performance management systems, or business intelligence tools a plus.  The qualified candidate is capable of working with minimal supervision; proficient and able to handle multiple projects and managing toward deadlines and deliverables.  The ability to work with others towards a common goal and manage conflict if required.  Should have a general understanding of technical concepts with demonstrated ability to learn and embrace new and changing technologies, applications and solutions.  Highly organized and detailed oriented; ability to understand the big picture and work on projects with diverse goals.  Strong analytical skills with demonstrated ability to think critically and develop creative solutions to complex business issues.

This position involves designing and developing user interfaces for internet/intranet applications.

RESPONSIBILITIES

An Application Developer designs and develops internet/intranet applications by setting expectations and features priorities throughout the development life cycle. Duties include determining design methodologies and tool sets, completing programming assignments, and designing and conducting tests. This position will also be responsible for supporting the production/editorial team, and any shared team support duties.

QUALIFICATIONS


The ideal candidate will have a mixture of web development experience - front-end, back-end, and mobile applications is preferred, including 5 or more years of experience developing high volume, enterprise backend systems and 3 or more years of developing robust, data-driven front-end user experiences.  They should be adept in Java, SQL (MySQL preferred), O/R frameworks such as Cayenne (preferred) or Hibernate, MVC presentation frameworks such as Tapestry (preferred) or JSP, Javascript (jQuery), CSS/SASS, HTML5. Solid knowledge of presentation layer development.

The Front-end Developer position offers an opportunity to play a key role in designing and building the next generation of NHL applications.  This position will be working closely with Application Developers, Product Developers, Design Lead, Project Managers, and other teams in the company to design the best experiences possible for our internal applications. RESPONSIBILITIES

This position will:

  • Take ownership of the front-end engineering using JavaScript, various JavaScript frameworks and libraries, HTML, and CSS.
  • Translate designs and style guides into functional user interfaces, ensuring cross browser compatibility and performance.
  • Building rich client interfaces driven by React/Redux or other web service APIs.

QUALIFICATIONS

SUMMARY

This position is responsible for providing Level 1 and Level 2 support for the NHL Service Desk as well as in person, customer focused support of office related technologies, systems and services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

This position is responsible for:  

Level 1 support:

  • Monitoring and responding to calls on the NHL Service Desk in a courteous, professional manner.
  • Facilitating issue resolution, providing alternative solutions to problems and proactively enhancing application design and implementation.
  • Utilizing service desk ticketing system to track issues and document internal procedures.
  • Primary focus is customer support for Individual Contributor to Executive Level.
  • Respond in person, over the phone, or via remote assistance to address all user issues.
  • Work closely with the service desk, via group chat and phone, to provide coverage to all NHL offices and numerous off site users, and to actively participate in ensuring that all support staff are aware of any conditions that might impede normal operations immediately or in the future.

IT Support Specialist - TD Garden (Boston, MA)

The IT Support Specialist's role is to ensure proper operations of office computer equipment, PoS and Retail systems, so that end users can accomplish organizational tasks. This includes receiving, prioritizing, documenting and actively resolving end user help requests during normal business hours and/or during Events.  Problem resolution may involve the use of diagnostics and help request tracking tools, as well as require that the individual give hands-on help at the desktop level.

Strategy & Planning

  • Evaluate documented resolutions and analyze trends for ways to prevent future problems.

Acquisition & Deployment

  • Follow established procedures for quoting, gaining approvals, configuration and deployment of devices.

Operational Management

  • Field incoming help requests from end users via both telephone and email in a courteous manner.
  • Document all pertinent end user identification information, including name, department, contact information, and nature of problem or issue.
  • Build rapport and elicit problem details from help desk customers.
  • Prioritize and schedule problems.  Escalate problems (when required) to the appropriately experienced technician.
  • Record, track, and document the help desk request problem-solving process, including all successful and unsuccessful decisions made, and actions taken, through to the final resolution.
  • Apply diagnostic utilities to aid in troubleshooting.
  • Access software updates, drivers, knowledge bases, and frequently asked questions resources on the Internet to aid in problem resolution.
  • Identify and learn appropriate software and hardware used and supported by the organization.
  • Perform hands-on fixes at the desktop level, including installing and upgrading software, implementing file backups, and configuring systems and applications.
  • Test fixes to ensure problem has been adequately resolved.
  • Perform post-resolution follow-ups to help requests.
  • Develop help sheets and knowledge base articles for end users.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
