Responsibilities include:
Group Mailings – There are many occasions during the course of the sales season that we send out direct mail for a wide assortment of shows, and to a wide assortment of people.
Future Bruins – Come help us make some young Bruins fans dream come true by helping us coordinate a game on the Garden ice prior to the Bruins game with two youth hockey organizations. Fun for the parents, fun for the players, and fun for the staff who helps to organize this once in a lifetime opportunity.
Office Support - Make runs to and from the Box Office for the Bruins Sales Staff. Head outside and into the great wide open to pick up packages at local suppliers, or deliver tickets to various companies in and around Boston.
Database Maintenance – Help us better serve our customers by learning more about them. Make calls to update lists, or jump on-line and discover new ways to allow us to reach our consumers.
Assist on the Play – Just like the teams who play in the GARDEN you may be asked from time to time to help out another department, or perhaps even the President’s Office. Jobs can range from serving dinner to the homeless as part of the “Garden Neighborhood Charities” Table of Friends, to escorting a Disney on Ice character at a local hospital visit.
These are just a few of the things a Garden and Boston Bruins Sales Intern can experience while learning from us each day. One of the great advantages about this industry is that it is always changing. Each night is a new event, filled with the promise of a new outcome. Responsibilities:
Assist Youth Hockey Development staff with daily activities and projects.

The BostonBruins.com Internship is a position that works with the Bruins Content Manager at BostonBruins.com, within the Bruins Communications Department. Interns will gain experience working on the Public Relations side of sports writing. Essential duties are as follows:
-Authoring game stories, news stories and feature stories for BostonBruins.com and the Bruins Gameday Program.
-Acting as a producer during the in-game live blogs. This includes watching away games on NESN to help with the production of the in-game live blogs.
-Recording interviews on a mini-camera for use on the Boston Bruins TV website as well as distribution to local television stations.
·-Transcribing coach and player interviews for distribution to local media.
-Assisting the Communications staff in gameday media operations during Boston Bruins home games.
-Other duties as assigned
This is a writing-intensive position as prospective candidates will publish stories on the Boston Bruins website and should possess strong writing backgrounds. Candidates must be organized, responsible, punctual and have flexible schedules to work some nights and all Bruins home games during the time of the internship. Strongly prefer candidates with the most availability and those that are located in Boston until the end of June 2010. Journalism and Communications majors strongly preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS: Undergraduate (junior/senior standing) or graduate students attending an accredited university with major emphasis in Sports or Recreation Management or related field. Designed for students considering careers in facility management or professional sports, this internship provides students the opportunity to learn the day to day operation of a professional sports facility and major concert venue. Through the internship students will learn the process of managing a successful arena by not only helping to build and manage a multi-million dollar budget but also interacting with all facility staff and subcontractors.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Aid facility management in day to day operation of the facility. Perform administrative support to the Building Operations Department. Assist with creating/managing the arenas operating budget. Compile monthly utility report, aid in cost saving initiatives. Conduct building maintenance inspections. Youth and Amateur Hockey Internship
This intern assists the Amateur & Youth Hockey Department in all aspects of preparation and execution of grassroots youth hockey development initiatives, such as Get Out And Learn, Street Pride, Hot Shots, Summerfest Tour and recognition program; participates in weekday, week night and/or weekend ice, inline and street hockey clinics at local rinks; coordinates appearance calendar for Hot Shots school demonstrations and assists with season events such as Predators Cup Tournament, Hockey School, Ace’s Got Skills and Foundation events. Develops content for website features of youth community appearances as well as an inventory of youth hockey programs from around the NHL and participates in community-related activities such as clinics and demonstrations. In addition, intern will assist with game night related activities such as intermission scrimmages, exhibition games, group nights and interactive games. Intern must like to work with children and interact with the public, be detail oriented and have an upbeat friendly personality. Hockey knowledge and skating skills recommended, but not necessary.

This position will report to the Predators radio play-by-play broadcaster, and is for the duration of the 2009-10 Season. This position will focus largely on game night and seasonal operations in regards to radio broadcasting. Student(s) will help track radio affiliates and relevant data; track player and team statistics and serve as in-game statistician; assist with broadcast needs during shows including notes, stats, and added-depth written reports; help edit and produce weekly podcast episodes for www.nashvillepredators.com; assist in editing player and coaches interviews for air; and other duties as assigned.
This person(s) must be available for all 41 Predators home games as well as office hours during the week. This position requires competence in Adobe Audition or similar audio editing program as well as document and spreadsheet software. Familiarity with hockey is a must! Statistical and computational ability needed, as well as advanced internet-based search abilities.
To clarify, this is not an on-air position. You will work closely with the broadcast department in its day-to-day operations. The position is an unpaid, for-credit only internship.

Fan Relations Internship
Want to work for a Professional Sports team, but haven’t gotten your foot in the door? The Nashville Predators offer full-time college students the opportunity to gain hands on experience and earn college credit at the same time! Predators’ internships make it possible for students to learn how a professional sports team operates on a daily basis. You will gain valuable skills in outrageous customer service & ticketing, as well as contacts and experiences to jump start a career in the wide world of sports!
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Interns should expect to work anywhere from 20-32 hours a week, per semester.
• During hockey season, some nights and weekend hours are required.
• Assist Fan Relations representatives by answering questions and performing duties related to service such as responding to emails, answering phone calls, and organizing incoming and outgoing mail.

Arena Marketing Intern

Interns will be distributing material and brochures regarding figure skating, hockey and/or private lessons at a booth on the Concourse during games. (3) Marketing Services Internship:
General office duties, which include but are not limited to: helping with advertising and marketing calendar, program coordination, development creative promotions, event planning, office needs and field projects. Interns will be assisting with the development and distribution of advertising collateral to sponsors, spectators and staff. Responsible for updating the advertising clipping portfolio. Execute marketing pieces through internet, print, television and radio. Interns will be assisting in the innovative marketing of the club. Interns will gain experiential learning in the real and exciting world of entertainment and sports.
(4) Journalism/Media Relations Internship:
General office duties, which include but are not limited to: filing newspaper clippings, researching and maintaining statistics, editing media guides, assisting in preparation for press conferences, maintaining statistics, editing media guides, assisting in preparation for press conferences, maintaining the press box, handing out game credentials, submitting stories and features for website and game publications. This consists of working office hours and all home games. This internship will be writing intensive; those applying should have strong writing skills and some knowledge of the New York Islanders. (5) Sponsorship Internship:
General office duties, which include but are not limited to: assisting with crowd control and promotions. Must have clean and professional appearance, due to interaction with high-level corporate clients.
(6) Group Sales:
General office duties, which include but are not limited to: assist in all aspects of customer service and acting as a liaison between sales and ticketing. Interns will be responsible for all aspects of mailings to season subscribers, partial season subscribers, family fun pack fans and general fans, including photocopying, folding, postage and delivery of materials. Interns will be assisting with database management. Interns will be assisting at Islanders games, including delivery of prize packs, zamboni rider procurement, ticket delivery and marketing material distribution. Interns will be assisting the marketing events, including delivery of marketing materials to hockey rinks, team store and distribution outlets.
(7) Game Operations Internship:
General office duties, which include but are not limited to: assisting the Game Operations department with special projects, game entertainment, game night organization, and overall department assistance. Game Operations interns will be performing detailed research on all other NHL team’s game entertainment, assisting with promotions, event execution, and sponsorship fulfillment. Interns are responsible for developing and executing new ideas.
Knowledge of Mac OS with Avid non-linear editing system, Adobe Photoshop & After Effects, Adobe Illustrator and experience setting up and operating professional camera’s and lighting recommended.
(8) Community Development:
General office duties, which include but are not limited to assisting with charitable donation requests, fan mail, the NY Islander’s Kids Club among other office duties. Interns will also take part in the New York Islander’s Community Patrol. The Community Patrol visits local Boys and Girls Clubs, youth groups, camps and schools daily. The Community Patrol brings an inflatable slap shot booth and give-a ways. The set up, manning, and break down of the inflates, along with distributing gave-a ways to the children are all duties of a day on the road with the Community Patrol.
(9) Merchandise:
General office duties, which include but are not limited to: assisting the re-merchandising of the merchandise stands at the Nassau Coliseum. This will include setting up new fixtures and sign materials. In addition, interns will be assisting in organizing the merchandise in preparation for the season.

You will provide direct support to the Premium Club Coordinator in developing and maintaining client lists, contact information, sales goals, sales figures, and all other data consistent with optimizing strategic goals and initiatives.
Group Mailings – There are many occasions during the course of the sales season that we send out direct mail for a wide assortment of shows, and to a wide assortment of people.
Office Support - Make runs to and from the Box Office for the Premium Club Sales Staff. Head outside and into the great wide open to pick up packages at local suppliers, or deliver tickets to various companies in and around Boston.
Database Maintenance – Help us better serve our customers by learning more about them. Make calls to update lists, or jump on-line and discover new ways to allow us to reach our consumers.
Assist on the Play – Just like the teams who play in the GARDEN you may be asked from time to time to help out another department, or perhaps even the President’s Office. Jobs can range from serving dinner to the homeless as part of the “GARDEN Neighborhood Charities” Table of Friends, to escorting a Disney on Ice character at a local hospital visit.
These are just a few of the things a Garden and Premium Club Sales Intern can experience while learning from us each day. One of the great advantages about this industry is that it is always changing. Each night is a new event, filled with the promise of a new outcome.
