Position Overview: This position is responsible for efficiently processing accounts payable transactions including but not limited to vendor invoices, employee expenses and corportate credit cards for the Washington Capitals. 

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for review and data entry of vendor invoices, including proper approval and coding.
  • Prepares Vendor Aging Report and processes payments weekly.
  • Organize and file electronic and hard copies of invoices and checks.
  • Communicates with staff and vendors concerning payable questions or discrepancies.  
  • Reviews and submits employee expenses to payroll for processing.
  • Processes all corporate credit cards.
  • Responsible for annual 1099 preparation.
  • Assists in the reconciliation of various General Ledger Accounts on a monthly basis.
  • Responsible for the preparation and monthly filing of Admission tax and various other Sales type taxes.
  • Maintains monthly travel expense spreadsheet to assist with month-end accruals.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Two years accounts payable experience.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Working knowledge of Great Plains a plus.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage business relationships in a professional and confidential manner.
  • Ability to work well within a team environment, yet comfortable completing tasks independently.
  • Attention to detail and good organizational skills.

Position Overview: This part-time seasonal position will assist the Washington Capitals Public Relations Department. Game Day staff will assist with duties during Capitals preseason, regular season and playoff home games throughout the 2017-18 season.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with media lounge and press box set up.

  • Pass out statistics between periods.
  • Record postgame quotes.

Position Overview: The Washington Capitals Seasonal Communications Content Assistant is responsible for assisting in all day-to-day operations of the Communications Department. This is a paid part-time position that requires a commitment beginning in August 2017 and runs through the duration of the of the 2017-18 NHL season.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely and collaborate with full-time communications staff members to help coordinate public and media relations efforts of the department.
  • Provide written content for WashCaps.com and media relations editorial efforts.
  • Compile daily media clips.
  • Prepare graphics and editorial content using Adobe InDesign.
  • Provide editorial and research support for statistical projects.
  • Manage team photographs including archiving.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachlors degree.
  • Experience with Adobe InDesign.
  • Dedicated, hard-working, punctual, dependable, self-reliant, resourceful and a team player.
  • Self-starter who takes the initiative and utilizes their decision-making abilities.
  • Strong writing, editing, communication and interpersonal skills.
