2017 Summer CRM Intern - Columbus Blue Jackets (Columbus, OH)

Overview

The Marketing Analyst Intern is responsible for analyzing different parts of the Blue Jackets fan base, increasing the Blue Jackets’ touch points with its fans and collecting Blue Jackets fan information. The position will also assist in database marketing and promotional activities to sell full/partial season and individual game tickets. 

 Duties and tasks:

  • Work in conjunction with the CRM Coordinator and Digital Marketing Analyst on collecting and organizing information on Blue Jackets fans.
  • Assist in the development of internal and external data acquisition plans for all Blue Jackets related activities and in the implementation of those plans. 
  • Upload and append fan information into the Blue Jackets database. 
  • Assist with fan surveys and the analyses of the data gathered.
  • Ensure data standardization and accuracy. 
  • Execute tasks that come from Team CRM inbox including merging CRM records and general database hygiene. 
  • Create segmented lists within CRM to be used for email and campaign purposes.

2017 Summer Community Relations Intern - Columbus Blue Jackets (Columbus, OH)

Overview

The intern will assist with key projects directed to improving our community, sustaining the Blue Jackets’ reputation as a good corporate citizen, as well as assisting in the fundraising efforts for the Blue Jackets Foundation.  This position requires attendance at some after-hours programs and weekend special events as well as the majority of Blue Jackets home games.  Some projects included in this internship are: Blue Jackets Foundation Golf Classic, Black Tie Blue Jackets Style Show, Book Jackets reading incentive program, Jackets For Jackets, and our donation program.

Duties and tasks:

  • Donation Fulfillment - Coordinate all monthly CBJ merchandise donations including the database management/tracking of all requests, donation fulfillment, and inventory management.
  • Summer/School Year Education Programs - Assist Education Manager in activating and marketing of all summer and school year Educational programming.
  • Foundation Donor Relations – Assist Foundation Manager as it relates to all Blue Jackets Foundation donor databases and donor communications.
  • Special Event Assistance – Support entire department around summer special events, including NHL Draft Party, Foundation Golf Classic, and mascot events and appearances.

2017 Summer Marketing Intern - Columbus Blue Jackets (Columbus, OH)

Overview

The intern will assist the Marketing Department with the planning and implementation of all in-market grassroots events as well as in-arena events, including data collection and input. These events include but not limited to: Dublin Irish Festival, Red, White, and Boom, Zoofari, Highball, and Jazz and Rib Fest. 

Duties and tasks:

  • Assist the marketing department with Blue Jackets events at Nationwide Arena. This includes but not limited to the NHL Draft Party and Open House events during the summer. Tasks will vary from pre-promotion for events all the way through set-up on event day. 
  • Complete a project involving strategies to reach college students. Campus tactics will include integrating CBJ student ticket programs, team app downloads, data collection, and CBJ Student Rush awareness.
  • Assist the Marketing Manager with promotional opportunities at the Chiller Ice Rinks. Continuously work with Chiller staff to utilize their resources such as signage, email database, social media and website to help promote various Blue Jackets initiatives. 
  • Assist with the collection and input of data captured at all summer events.
  • Maintain an updated inventory of all marketing assets for off-season events. This includes prizes, equipment, interactive games and signage. 
  • Assist with “CBJ Mobile Tour” community events and special projects. Tasks will include pre-planning, event set-up, event activation, tear down and conducting a summary for each event. 

Learning Objectives:

  • Demonstrate strategies to connect with various demographics including college students, Millennials, and families.
  • Describe how to execute a successful off-site event from beginning concept to activation to summary.

Overview

The intern will assist the Ticket Operations Department with order processing, fulfillment, group ticket distribution, and other duties. The intern will be trained on all department policies/procedures including the use of all Ticketmaster software. The Ticket Operations intern will assist with the operations of the Box Office during CBJ game nights, and/or special events. Season Sales Account Executive - Columbus Blue Jackets (Columbus, OH)

Responsible for generating new season ticket and group sales revenue from individual consumers and members of the Central Ohio business community.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Meet or exceed annual sales goals for both renewal and new business as established by management.
  • Identify and target potential season ticket and group outing customers.
  • Identify needs of each customer and present them with customized solutions utilizing the full menu of Columbus Blue Jackets ticket products.
