Sales & Marketing: Corporate Sponsor
Corporate Development Sales Coordinator - Columbus Blue Jackets (Columbus, OH)

The Corporate Development Sales Assistant will be responsible for assisting Corporate Development sales staff in growing corporate sponsorship revenue by developing all sales materials and proposals; maintaining a business intelligence database; preparing and analyzing market research; and other tasks as assigned.  The primary role of the Sales Assistant will be to help the Corporate Development account executives with creating the most effective sales presentations and compelling business cases to secure the purchase of marketing and premium seating partnerships.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Creation of all Corporate Development sales proposals.
  • Production of the documents in PowerPoint.
  • Development of all artistic renderings of proposed sponsorship elements in Photoshop.
  • Development and maintenance of a master sales presentation and other sales collateral as required.
  • Introduction and implementation of audio/visual components for sales presentations.
  • Creation of in-market brand activation presentations in cooperation with the Partnership Activation Manager.
  • Maintenance of a Prospect Management Database housing information on target corporations.
  • Use of Scarborough Research to provide supporting evidence for sales proposals as well as overall industry category profiles.
  • Other tasks as assigned by the Director of Corporate Development Services or the Vice President of Corporate Development.

Preferred Education and/or Experience:

  • Four year college degree.  Preferably in marketing or business.
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to use market research software and interpret data.
  • General understanding of the advertising, media and sponsorship sales process.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Capability to meet time sensitive project deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and to function both independently and as a team member.
  • Flexible hours required: working nights, weekends and holidays.

  • Proactively look for ways to create incremental business opportunities with existing customers.
  • Provide superior customer service to clients – existing ticket holders, prospects and single game buyers.
  • Make cold calls from provided lists.
  • Handle incoming calls from sales prospects and existing clients.
  • Maintain complete and accurate computerized records of all clients.
  • Actively research and prospect new sales leads.
  • Create new ideas to increase ticket sale.
  • Work games and other events to support ticket sales initiatives.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Director of New Business Development.

Education/ Experience:
- BS/BA in Business, Sport Management/Marketing, or similar area of study.
- Aggressive, competitive and committed to the sports industry.
- Highly motivated with a desire to be successful.
- Strong communication and computer skills.
- Passion for a growth oriented career in sales.
- Detail-oriented and organized; ability to handle several projects at once.
- Prior telemarketing and/or sales experience is preferred but not essential.
- Any experience working for a team, athletic department or event is beneficial.

Facility Operations/Security: Maintenance
Painter - CBJ Arena Management/ Nationwide Arena (Columbus, OH)

Perform all phases of interior surface repairs, including painting, plastering, drywall repair, wall vinyl, floor coverings, and ceiling tiles. Responsibilities include ordering and maintaining supplies and stocks, and maintaining an inventory list of supplies. Ability to handle multiple priorities with minimal instruction and assist in overall building staff. Maintain a neat working area during and after completion of projects. 

Experience required /desired

Previous interior painting experience required. Ability to perform all phases of interior surface repairs, including painting, plastering, drywall repair, wall vinyl, floor coverings, ceiling tiles, etc. Ability to lift 80 pounds. Ability to work long and unusual hours, with a flexible work schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays. Ability to work and interact with a large and diverse work force and various levels of management. Ability to maintain balance and maneuver on ladder easily. Willingness to work in a team environment. Ability to be directed for projects and complete with minimal instruction. Must possess a valid driver’s license. Maybe subject to emergency calls.
