Develop and produce podcasting content for BlueJackets.com. Work with Web Site Manager to learn how to post audio to the Podcast page.
Currently enrolled in a two or four year college or university. Broadcast Journalism, Mass Communications, or a similar major highly preferred.
Previous experience at the campus radio or TV station, or a prior internship at a commercial/university broadcast outlet is preferred.
Knowledge of editing software like Adobe Audition is required.
Must have good communication skills, knowledge of hockey and the Blue Jackets.

2015-2016 Season Communications Intern - Columbus Blue Jackets (Columbus, OH)
The student will assist Communications Staff with all departmental duties including the following responsibilities.
Write and edit game-day program, publications, press releases and other written materials as needed.
Manage news clippings.
Organize and maintain photography archives.
Maintain and update media distribution lists.
Coordinate distribution of requested printed materials.
Manage game-day credential process and press box preparation.
Game night duties involve staffing press entrance and press lounge; assisting in distribution of game reports before, during and after the game.

Serve as primary media liaison for Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) State Hockey Championship in March. The Event Services Intern will be responsible for assisting with the day to day operations of Nationwide Arena, Event Services Department, as well as set-up and coordination of all arena events. Intern will be responsible for assisting with both back-of-house and front-of-house for each event and will get ample experience on both sides.
Assist Event Services Department in the planning, organization and supervision of all events at Nationwide Arena.
Assist with the daily operations of the Event Services Department including but not limited to daily meetings, filing event information, scheduling, staffing, special projects, etc.

2015-2016 Season Game Operations Intern - Columbus Blue Jackets (Columbus, OH)
Primarily a game day position, the Game Operation Intern will assist with live entertainment and promotional elements during Blue Jackets home games. They will take direction from the Event Presentation Manager on many of the following items: managing the Promotion Teams; meeting with and conducting run-throughs with live entertainment (anthem singers, color guards, bands, etc.); cueing timeout and intermission activities; ensuring that all items needed for the game are prepped; maintaining an open line of communication during the game with Manager and Game Operations Director.
Primary Office Responsibilities
Review game script with Game Ops staff.
Prepare game day materials including promo teams scripts, Blimp script promotional contestants form, promotional waivers, prizing elements, intermission diagrams, game day memos for live entertainment, Zamboni riders.
Assist in booking Military Honoree participants for games, including contacting Honorees, composing game day memos and facilitating instructions.
Primary Game Day Responsibilities:
Prepare Promo Team rooms.
Assist with Promo Team script meetings.
Oversee Promo Team prop and prizing preparation.
Attend Production meeting.
Conduct sound check/run-though with live entertainment (anthem singer, bands, color guards, etc.).

2015-2016 Season Marketing Intern - Columbus Blue Jackets (Columbus, OH)
The intern will assist the Marketing and Fan Development departments with the planning and implementation of all in-market grassroots events as well as in-arena events including the data collection efforts and post event data input. The intern will also assist with in-market partnership activation research.

2015-2016 Season Premium Services Intern - Columbus Blue Jackets (Columbus, OH)
This position will assist the service staff of the Premium Seating Department. The intern’s primary responsibilities will relate to the service of the suite, loge box, and terrace table accounts. The intern will be expected to assist with daily activities as outlined by the Premium Seating Specialist, as well as work for a majority of Columbus Blue Jackets home games and Nationwide Arena concerts/events. Hours and schedule will vary depending on the number of games and other events each week. The intern and Premium Seating Specialist will work together to determine weekly hours.
Daily Office Responsibilities:
Ticket order fulfillments and mailings for games and concerts (will receive training on Ticketmaster Archtics software).
Prepare spreadsheet for each game and concert/event of all suites, loges, and terrace tables.
Update client contact information and other documents as needed.
Game Day and Game Night Responsibilities:
Perform a full suite/club walk through to check for cleanliness, maintenance issues, and overall appearance each game day.
Assist Premium Seating Specialist in fulfilling game night experiences for premium clients such as: taking a scratched player to a suite for pictures/autographs, escorting guests to a radio booth or production room visit or Zamboni ride, and/or fulfilling and following up on any other pre-planned special experiences.

The Columbus Blue Jackets are seeking a passionate and hardworking individual who is committed to becoming a sales professional. Our ticket sales internship program is designed for students who want to gain first-hand experience on the front lines of a professional sports team. Under the direction of the sales leadership team, the intern will assist in all aspects of the Ticket Sales and Service department including sales training, event preparation and execution, database collection, etc. The internship will also gain experience in other areas such as marketing, promotions, and operations as needed.

Create video web content for Jackets TV on BlueJackets.com
Assist with producing daily reports that cover a different angle of the preparation for the season each day. These reports will include b-roll, interviews and stand-ups with the help of a CBJ broadcaster.
Daily practice reports: Shoot and edit video at the CBJ morning skate and the visiting team practice. Work with CBJ broadcast talent to shoot and later edit a pre-game package previewing that night's game.
Post-game production: Shoot and edit locker room interviews and post on website.
Shoot non-game day interviews or features with broadcasters or players. Later edit and post video on Jackets TV.
Produce various feature videos centering on activities with the players, coaching staff and Blue Jackets departments (Community Development, Fan Development, Hockey Operations, etc). Help develop scripting, production requirements (camera set-up, lighting, micing, etc) prior to shoot date.
Develop additional video content ideas to be produced and posted on Jackets TV (BlueJackets.com) with direction and support of the digital media and marketing team.

The Pre and Post-Game Host will have responsibilities to anchor pre-game, intermission and post-game coverage for all game broadcasts distributed on the 33-station Columbus Blue Jackets Radio Network, BlueJackets.com and the Blue Jackets Mobile App.
This is a part time position.
Pre-game: Introduce the broadcast and transition through each segment including coach’s interview; player interview and opponent preview.
