Community Relations Manager
The Community Relations Manager reports to the Director of Community Relations and works within the Anaheim Ducks and Honda Center Community Relations department, as well as on behalf of the Anaheim Ducks Foundation- the main beneficiary of the Anaheim Ducks fundraising efforts. The mission of the Anaheim Ducks Foundation is to facilitate and support programs that produce positive change for children and families throughout Southern California by providing educational opportunities, broadening access to the sport of hockey and addressing the health and wellness needs of our community.
The Community Relations department plans and executes special events to benefit the Anaheim Ducks Foundation- and subsequently the community- through its own programs and financial grants to local nonprofit organizations. The primary responsibilities of the Community Relations Manager are to administer annual Community Relations Signature fundraising events and cultivate donor relationships and recognition.
Examples of Duties/Essential Functions:
Create event planning timelines, including tracking of ticket sales, revenue and in-kind donations.
Develop and manage the event revenue/expense budgets, and create specific strategies to achieve revenue and expense goals.
Manage relationships with nonprofit partners and event committees. Develop committee objectives, facilitate meetings and provide support to ensure established goals are met.
Maintain close interaction with Signature Events department, who is responsible for logistics and other event planning details.
Prospect partnership opportunities for sponsorships, underwriting and in-kind donations. Participate in solicitations as appropriate. Collaborate with Corporate Partnerships department for sponsor integration into events.
Oversee execution of event collateral material, creative/theme elements and external communication, including promotion, advertising and social media messaging by collaborating with appropriate internal departments.
Manage day-of-event fundraising elements (i.e. silent & live auctions or opportunity drawings), including item collection, packaging, etc.
Serve as point-person to event guests, sponsors and nonprofit partner staff and donors.
