Game Night Concierge Representative (Part-time) - New York Islanders Hockey Club (East Meadow, NY)

The Game Night Concierge is responsible for providing excellent customer service for our VIP Guests. This position is responsible for readying team VIP rooms prior to guest’s arrival, checking credentials and greeting guests, visiting VIP guests at their seats and creating a pleasing atmosphere while providing the utmost in customer service.

Qualifications:

  • Must possess a friendly and personable demeanor and excellent customer service skills

INTERNSHIP: Community Relations Fall 2017 - New York Islanders Hockey Club (East Meadow, NY)

Description

The Islanders Community Relations department acts as a liaison between the Islanders and the community. Interns entering into this department will participate in planning and hosting events throughout the metropolitan area as part of our grassroots marketing campaigns. Interns will be fun, energetic, enthusiastic and committed to promoting the New York Islanders in the community.

Primary (Essential) Responsibilities:  

Community/Team Events/Islanders Game Nights

Help with both on and off-site events (i.e. Islanders special events, Islanders I.C.E. Tour events, festivals, etc.) in an effort to promote the New York Islanders

  • Responsible for the set-up, operation and breakdown of all interactive elements and the New York Islanders I.C.E. Tour vehicles at scheduled events
  • Responsible for all operational needs and activation of the following elements while at events representing the New York Islanders- handout of giveaways, facilitate on-site promotions, interact with fans and communicate team information
  • Make sure vehicles are fully stocked with necessary items for each event and ensure team vehicles are kept clean at all times
  • Responsible for fan engagement, data collection at each event and proper storage of data
  • Responsible for completing post-event wrap-up forms after every event
  • Assist with planning/solicitation for Islanders Children’s Foundation events (i.e. ICF Casino Night)
  • Be available to assist the Community Relations staff at Islanders home games throughout the course of the season with Community Relations, Islanders Children’s Foundation and team initiatives.

INTERNSHIP: NY Hockey Holdings - New York Islanders Hockey Club (New York, NY)

Duration: 2017-18 NHL season

Overview

NY Hockey Holdings (NYHH) owns a majority share of the New York Islanders NHL franchise. NYHH is looking to fill the position of Intern as soon as possible. The Intern will report to the Manager of NYHH and will be headquartered at 200 Park Avenue South, New York, NY 10003.

Scope and Responsibilities

The intern will be a problem solver, organized, and able to multitask. He/she will be professional and comfortable socializing with high profile VIP clients. Work will be project-based and include recurring responsibilities to be determined by the Manager. Availability to work nights and some weekends is necessary. Recurring responsibilities include the following:

  1. Monitor NHL news and best practices throughout season.
  2. Perform industry related research.
  3. Assist with preparation for game day workflow, such as preparing guest lists, guest profiles and catering orders.
  4. Set up promotional items in the owners’ suite for home games.
  5. Act as a concierge/greeter for VIP guests at Barclays Center.
  6. Assist with special requests from VIP guests.
  7. Track and organize donation and charity obligations.
  8. Maintain internal tracking documents for various projects.
  9. Compile monthly expense reports.
  10. Perform administrative tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have an undergraduate degree from a four-year university and relevant administrative or hospitality experience. This person should be a team player with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage deadlines and prioritize.

He/She will have the opportunity to be considered eligible for a potential full-time position following the internship period.

Retail/Licensing: Retail Sales Associate
PART- TIME: Pro-shop Sales Associate - New York Islanders Hockey Club (East Meadow, NY)

A Pro-shop retail sales associate is responsible for interacting with customers, working in the stock room making sure the pro-shop is always fully stocked with merchandise and equipment. Pro-shop sales representative must also have knowledge of hockey equipment, including skate sharpening.

A Pro-shop retail sales associate could be working in any of our 2 Pro-shop locations on Long Island at any given time.

  • Northwell Health Ice Center – East Meadow

Job Qualifications:

  • Have knowledge of Hockey equipment
  • Customer service skills
  • Have weekday afternoons to closing, and all day Saturdays and Sundays available

Part-Time Office Assistant: Iceworks - New York Islanders Hockey Club (Syosset, NY)

Major Responsibilities:

  • Help with heavy customer service both in person and over the phone
  • Provide  information and answer questions about the facility and all its programs
  • Registration process including payments
  • Update and maintain class roster
  • Collect ice fees for private lessons, freestyle sessions and skate rentals
  • Hand out skate rentals and ensure organization of skate rental room
  • Assist management with any other miscellaneous duties and responsibilities

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of hockey and/or figure skating (recommended but not required)
  • Customer service skills
  • Energetic and outgoing personality with a strong work ethic
  • Late afternoon/evening and weekend availability is a MUST!!
