POSITION SUMMARY/DESCRIPTION:
Casual Labor – Event Crew staff are responsible for cleaning all areas of the Xcel Energy Center during events. The starting hourly rate is $11.37 an hour. 

 RESPONSIBILITIES
• Sweep and mop floors
• Clean carpets with sweepers and carpet cleaning equipment
• Wash windows and doors, empty trash and operate compactors
• Separate all waste (compost/comingle/mixed paper/construction waste/trash) and empty it into the proper receptacle
• Clean restrooms (scrub toilets and urinals, mop floors, empty trash and restock supplies)
• Assist in outside maintenance (shovel snow, empty trash, sweep sidewalks)
• Set up and tear down chairs in the arena before and after shows
• Perform other duties as assigned

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
• At least 18 years old 

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
• General facility cleaning needs and procedures
• Cleaning equipment operation preferred
• General building maintenance preferred
• Tools, materials and supplies commonly used in building cleaning and maintenance a plus
• Ability to understand spoken and written directions
• Work in a team-oriented environment with other part-time, full-time and temporary staff
• Experience in cleaning in an arena/convention center/hotel environment a plus

Administration/General Management: Receptionist/Switchboard
Command Center Staff (Part-Time) - Minnesota Wild (St. Paul, MN)

The Guest Experience team is dedicated to providing an exciting and memorable experience while ensuring the safety and security of all guests who visit the Xcel Energy Center, Saint Paul RiverCentre and Legendary Roy Wilkens Auditorium. 

Command Center staff are responsible for providing effective communication to guests and team members within the Xcel Energy Center. Staff will receive and dispatch emergency and routine calls during events. Ensures distribution of event information to all departments during events that are related to the needs of the guests and the facility. The Command Center staff receives work direction from the Manager on Duty (MOD) and/or Guest Services Lead. This is a part-time position. 

Responsibilities/Essential Functions

  • Ability to use clear and concise communication on multiple platforms including radio usage, phones and computer.
  • Answers incoming radio/calls in a timely manner; ability to multi-task which includes taking multiple calls at a time.
    • Ability to listen and take notes to document a situation being called in.
  • Documents staff/department calls during events by typing key information in the CRM online tool.
    • Ensures proper information is documented and details are not missed.
  • Knowledgeable of general and emergency procedures to be able to answer inquiries and initiate facility processes.       
    • Ability to make quick decisions and follow department protocol
    • Ability to initiate calls for facility to ensure guest needs are sent to the appropriate personnel.
    • Ability to immediately notify the appropriate personnel/departments; for medical, safety and building emergencies.
  • Strong facility knowledge including building layout, department functions/positions, company policies and procedures
  • Responsible for tracking and follow up for all situations that arise during an event to ensure situation is resolved for the guest, facility and/or departments.

The Hockey Lodge retail stores are part of the Minnesota Sports and Entertainment (MSE) family of businesses which include Minnesota Wild of the National Hockey League (NHL), Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League (AHL) and St. Paul Arena Company (SPAC) operating Xcel Energy Center, St. Paul RiverCentre and the Legendary Roy Wilkins Auditorium.

This instrumental role helps maintain inventory control, and partners closely with sales staff in this fast-paced, seasonal, professional sports retail environment.

IT Support Specialist - Minnesota Wild (St. Paul, MN)

Our IT team provides exceptional onsite service to internal and external in a high volume campus. We are growing and looking for a talented IT Support Specialist to join our team who will assist in providing IT services during the hundreds of events we host annually. This new team member will work roughly 20 hours a week, mostly evenings and weekends to ensure our events run smoothly. We will fully equip and train our newest team member.

What you’ll do:

You will work independently providing phone and data support for events at the Xcel Energy Center, Roy Wilkins Auditorium and St. Paul RiverCentre. In addition, you will occasionally provide IT services to our Iowa Wild family. You will work closely with event staff to assist with phone and data wire installation, wireless user assistance, event issue escalation support. The problems you resolve will include the use of hands-on diagnostics at the desktop and event level, and superior documentation in our help request tracking tool.  As the position grows, you will collaborate on a variety of IT projects with the team.

  • Work closely with event staff to provide phone, data and PC support
  • Prioritize and schedule problems. Escalate problems (when required) to the appropriately experienced technician.
  • Document all client interaction with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Apply diagnostic utilities to aid in troubleshooting.
  • Identify and learn appropriate software and hardware used and supported by the organization.
  • Perform hands-on fixes at the desktop level, including installing and upgrading software, installing hardware, implementing file backups, and configuring systems and applications.
  • Test fixes to ensure problem has been adequately resolved.
  • Build rapport and elicit problem details from help desk customers.
  • Other duties as assigned

What you will bring:

  • A.A.S. in computer science

Lead Custodian - Minnesota Wild (St. Paul, MN)

The Lead Custodian position is responsible for leading and supervising a crew of full-time staff, part-time staff and temporary labor in the cleaning, maintenance, set-up and tear-down of activities at the practice facility operated by Saint Paul Arena Company and Minnesota Wild.  The Lead Custodian works with the Event Management department in meeting all operational needs (set-up/tear-down and cleaning) for the events at the practice facilities. This position is also responsible for completing all daily cleaning (office cleaning, lobby areas, restrooms, etc.) tasksThis position must also drive ice resurfacers.

This is a union position that falls under the Local 70 Bargaining Agreement. 

Salary:   $20.93/hr. - First 90 Days
               $22.15/hr. - After 90 Days

Responsibilities/Essential Functions

  • Perform and lead a crew in general custodial duties and building maintenance
  • Work with overnight contract cleaning company and temporary staffing company
  • Conduct pre-shift meetings with crew to communicate the days’ objectives
  • Operate and train staff to operate cleaning equipment (riding sweepers/scrubbers, walk behind sweeper and scrubbers, escalator and carpet cleaning equipment, etc.)
  • Operate an ice resurfacer, fork lift, Bobcat and other motorized equipment
  • Lead a crew in setting-up and tearing-down of event space as defined in an event order
  • Lead a crew in completing daily cleaning tasks
  • Identify cleaning/maintenance projects and assign these projects to staff
  • Measure and mark event spaces for equipment based on diagrams provided in event orders
  • Represent the department and company in a professional manner when dealing with clients and with other departments and companies within the building
  • Attend weekly event meetings and brief coworkers on upcoming events
  • Learn and practice all aspects of the building’s sustainability policies and procedures.
  • Communicate, educate, and train all other departmental staff on the building’s sustainability policies and procedures
  • Handle day to day point of sale transactions, as needed
  • Lock and unlock the facility as needed

  • Certified Ice Technician | CIT (or willingness to obtain certification)
  • 10 years ice resurfacing experience (CIT Equivalent)

Usher, Part-time - Minnesota Wild (St. Paul, MN)

The Guest Experience team is dedicated to providing an exciting and memorable experience while ensuring the safety and security of all guests who visit the Xcel Energy Center, Saint Paul RiverCentre and Legendary Roy Wilkens Auditorium. 

The Usher responsibilities include, but are not limited to the care of the guests and fans visiting the facility. Some of the duties are facility entrance, directional assistance, seat location and problem solving, all while exceeding the guests expectations during events.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the entry process as an usher, allowing guests event access, verification of valid tickets, scanner usage/knowledge, providing general directions and assisting with handouts including lifting and moving boxes to various locations.
  • Responsible for working in a variety of areas including elevators, stairwells, aisles, lobbies and Guest  Services desks
  • Monitors work area, ensuring building policies are enforced including but not limited to fan behavior/ safety, no smoking, curtain closure, guest concerns etc.
    • Verification of ticket for assigned section, direction to specific seat, assist with resolving ticket issues and those requiring special seating needs.
    • Stand at the top of assigned section with the regular intervals of walking up and down the stairs to ensure guest needs are being met.
    • Periodic section checks which include walking down and up stairs ensuring guests are not smoking, responding to guest needs, looking for contraband, looking for safety hazards
  • Responds in a timely fashion to the guests needs and reports any concerns to the supervisor
  • May be assigned to work in confined areas including elevators, stairwells and hallways. 
  • Build relationships with the guests in your assigned locations.
  • Follows proper procedures during evacuations and emergencies.
  • Attends the pre-shift meeting for each event.
  • Ability to transport guests via a wheelchair to locations within our facility
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
