Group Sales Specialist - New York Rangers (New York, NY)

RESPONSIBILITES

The Group Sales Specialist generates group ticket sales utilizing aggressive and targeted outbound efforts for all MSG Sports events (New York Knicks, New York Rangers, New York Liberty). Create and maintain client database, future sales opportunities and referrals. Develop and implement programs designed to drive sales volume and maximize sales revenues. Contribute to the servicing of inbound calls including customer inquiries and inbound ticket orders. Leverage popular events, acquire referrals from current buyers, and keep core clients informed and satisfied. Ensure timely collection of payments, monitor held inventory, maintain detailed records on purchase history and sales production, and keep abreast of TicketMaster reports/improvements. Foster positive working relationships within department, company, and client base.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with direct client contact
  • Knowledge of MSG Sports properties and a sincere and educated interest in sports/entertainment
  • Abillity to multi-task, prioritize assignments and manage workload in a highly urgent environment
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to develop creative ideas to increase revenues
  • Motivated sales professional with a positive and resilient attitude and ability to develop strong relationships with clients that encourage sales
  • Computer proficiency required
  • Must be flexible to work evenings and weekends as required.

Hockey Operations: Coach
Hockey Assistant Instructor - Hockey Programs - New York Rangers (New York, NY)

The Hockey Assistant Instructor is responsible for supporting the lead instructor and on-site event manager in preparation, execution and breakdown of all hockey related activities.

  • Assisting the lead instructor with the execution of clinics, tournaments and other hockey related activities such as off-ice warm ups or classroom instruction
  • This position is responsible for the safety of up to 40 kids at any one time and managing their experience in our programs
  • Must represent the MSG/New York Rangers brand in a professional manner at all times

Required Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate must be at least 18 years of age and possess previous coaching experience or playing experience  
  • Candidate must be enthusiastic and energetic while interacting with participants and their parents/guardians
  • A successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to clearly communicate basic instructional teaching points of hockey
  • Applicants must possess strong communication skills and demonstrate a strong passion for hockey and teaching the game
  • Candidates must work extremely well in a team oriented environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Coaching/Playing experience at the High School, Junior or College level
  • USA Hockey Coaching Certification

Education:

Candidates who have completed 60 credits of college-level coursework (representing 2 years), or have shown similar self-development through certifications, trade school coursework, etc. are preferred.

Hockey Operations: Coach

The Hockey Lead Instructor is responsible for coaching and creating a quality experience for youth hockey players ages 4-14 both on and off the ice.

  • Structure and execute on-ice lesson plan
  • Must maintain a professional appearance on a daily basis and represent the values of MSG in the most professional way possible
  • Must be punctual for all events, training sessions and other necessary work functions
  • Responsible for up to 40 kids ages 4-14 at any one time while ensuring the safety of each individual
  • Assist in the organization and preparation of activities
  • Provide direction and oversight to the assistant instructors in cooperation with the on-site event manager
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate must be at least 18 years of age and possess a minimum of 8 years previous coaching experience with strong knowledge of teaching the basics of hockey.
  • Must be enthusiastic and energetic while interacting with all peers, parents and participants
  • Applicants must possess strong communication skills and demonstrate a strong passion for teaching the game through prior work experience
  • Must possess the ability to command the attention and respect from both players and assistant instructors
  • A successful individual must demonstrate the necessary skills to plan and execute a high quality practice through previous work experience with a team, clinic or camp

Education:

Candidates who have completed 60 credits of college-level coursework (representing 2 years), or have shown similar self-development through certifications, trade school coursework, etc. are preferred.
